The Week in Review (Jan 5-10, 2020)
By: Crystal J. F.
This week has been full of TSC posts. Cassie had her ask box on Tumblr open for two days and answered many questions about Chain of Gold (this also included a few about Chain of Iron and The Last Hours in general). Yesterday she posted a little snippet from The Lost Book of the White (the second book in The Eldest Curses series coming this September) and today subscribers to her email finally got the early access to her January TLH short story.
This is the rundown of what you should know; as well as links for the teasers and short.
Top 5 things you need to know:
Lucie's demonic powers will be discovered in this installment (and they are supposedly more scary than her brother's).
There will be multiple complicated love triangles.
You can expect roughly 3 engagements by the end of the book.
There's more than one significant villain.
2 people who have flower cards will die by the end of Chain of Gold.
Comments to theorize about:
Something very important about Rupert (Jesse's father) will come up in Chain of Iron.
Lucie and Grace encounter each other a few times because they share something in common. (Jesse? James? or something else?)
All of the characters favorite weapons were pictured in the sketch pages Cassandra Jean did. Check them out here and see if you can tell everyone's preferred weapon!
Things to look forward to:
Pickles the Kelpie — one of Cassie's new favorite characters, who lives in a vat of gin at the Devil Tavern.
Charlie Bowater still has 5 more character portraits coming (Grace, Christopher, Alastair, Ariadne, and a surprise character).
Though Church chose to stay home in New York for this book, he may later join Magnus in London.
