Simon Lewis Lovelace and Isabelle Sophia Lightwood. Two people who are a perfect example of polar opposites. While our resident-Star Wars nerd boy is endearing and clumsy, we have the power-girl with her seven-inch heels and optimistic and encouraging smile. The two collide and sparks fly when the popular, sassy girl falls for the timid guy.

Time separates them but love decides to give them a chance, as Simon Lewis strives to become worthy of being a Shadowhunter. As we follow his journey through the Shadowhunter Academy, we once again see the love emerge and strengthen, between the “shark and the shark lover”, as they say.

“Distance makes the heart grow fonder” and that is definitely what it did to the star-crossed lovers.

Let’s dive into memory lane and relive the 5 most beautiful Sizzy quotes, from Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy.

1. "That's Simon Lewis, and he is my boyfriend. So if any of you think about trying to hurt him because he's a Mundie or--may the Angel have mercy on your soul--pursuing him romantically, I will come after you, I will hunt you down and I will crush you to powder.”

Welcome to the Shadowhunter Academy

Isabelle Lightwood, also known as Izzy, has been one of the boldest and independent characters of the Chronicles. She has established firmness where needed, yet displays her caring nature in the most unexpected ways. She never backs down and definitely doesn’t let any other woman catch her boyfriend’s eye. At the beginning of the book, she draws a clear line and makes it well known that Simon is hers, despite his mediocre memory, his clueless expressions, and suppressed attitude, and any woman or man who rests an eye on him, shall face the wrath of Izzy Lightwood.

2. “Isabelle. It was always Isabelle.”

The Lost Herondale

As Julie confronts Simon and asks him about the loss of his memories, he cannot help noticing Julie’s necklace and thus is unable to stop the rush of memories that flood his mind.

Broken memories, shards that make scarce sense, a ruby necklace glinting against his throat, given for safe-keeping. Initially, Simon used to question the face of the speaker, and yet deep down his heart, he knew it was Isabelle. It always had been her, fierce and unyielding in the face of danger.

3. “Izzy -I don't know why you'd wait for me, but if you do, I promise to make myself worth that wait. Or I'll try. I can promise I am going to try.”

The Whitechapel Fiend

Romantic love letters have never been Simon’s forte. And he proves this when he wrote the most hilarious, yet the most stupid letter to Isabelle after their fight. Mentioning rats in his letter? Check. Telling her he fell off a tree? Check. Mentioning Jace more time than he mentions her? Check.

And yet, he steals our hearts with this last line. This last phrase is undoubtedly, a small ray of hope that Simon provides to us. Proving, that he is probably the sweetest person, yet the most determined and hard-working.

4. "I wasn't aware that there are any other girls in the world but you.”

Born to Endless Night

My, my. This just gets better. This is the one line that Isabelle would have died to hear. For someone who has always been regarded as a formidable personality, Isabelle does need some semblance of reassurance from her boyfriend that yes, despite everything that might have shaken his life like a hurricane, his love was as fierce as ever.

5. “Simon, don’t you think I’m scared of that too? You’re not the only one on that ledge. If we jump, we jump together. We fall together.”

Pale Kings and Princes

We all have moments in our life when we feel vulnerable, insecure. And in those moments we need someone to guide us, the light to our darkness, the hope to our despair. Simon confesses that he is afraid of losing himself, that he despises being afraid.

This was perhaps the turning point in their relationship, where they (finally) confessed their inhibitions.

As Rose said to Jack while alighting the Titanic, we have Izzy tell Simon, “You jump, I jump.” Because they are in this, together and forever.
